Background
The client had landed a winter promotion order through a Russian retail channel with a fixed delivery window. Their previous ocean route had become unpredictable in peak season, and while rail looked like the answer, they were concerned about securing origin slots.
Our approach
- Split the volume into six weekly batches of seven 40HQ containers, locking block-train slots at both Harbin and Chengdu.
- Consolidated cargo at the Harbin bonded warehouse first, sorting and labelling in loading sequence to cut terminal dwell time.
- Reviewed declaration documents during consolidation so filing could happen the day the train arrived at the station.
- Distributed directly from the Moscow warehouse to three regional warehouses on arrival, removing post-arrival waiting time.
